Bounded by 6th Avenue, Broadway, Mississippi Avenue, and the Platte River, this central Denver neighborhood features an eclectic mix of architectural styles, including elegant Queen Anne's, sturdy Denver Squares, and stately Dutch Colonial Revivals. The neighborhood also has a good number of galleries and several top-notch dramatic theaters.

The neighborhood began late 1890's near what was once known as the town of Auraria and completed in the mid 1950's. There have been some homes added to some of the few infill lots over the years the exterior usually consists of vinyl siding and frame.

Single Family Residences generally range from approximately 900sq/ft to 2800 sq/ft. Most of the homes have received updating and remodeling since the original date of construction. Several renovation projects were started and completed in the year 2000-2001, as a part of an effort to revitalize the area.

Lang 1846-1897 Born Chillicothe, Ohio, practiced 1886-1893 (Denver) (with Marshall Pugh), his work can be viewed at 128 W. First Street, 142 W. 5th to name a few. Varian Ernest Phillip 1854-1927 Born Plainfield, New Jersey, one such home can be viewed at 435 Delaware St. and Marean Willis Adams Born 1880-1936 Born Woodhull, New York. Examples of his designs can be viewed at 226, 230,and 240 West 3rd Street.
